HI, I'M EVAN,
I was born and raised in the Adirondacks and have managed the Hungry Trout Fly Shop since 2011. My family owned and operated the Hungry Trout Resort for 40 years. When I was a kid, my dad and I would go to our small, remote cabin and rough it for the weekend. We would fish from morning until dusk chasing bass and pike, come back to eat by candlelight, then do it all over again the next day. Those memories fueled a love for stillwater angling that grows stronger every season. The fishing is great, but what I’ll really never get enough of is this beautiful environment – the Adirondacks.
I moved to Durango, Colorado after high school and fell in love, but something was missing. Those spring and summer nights in the Adirondacks were ingrained in me. After a decade or so of bouncing around, I knew I had to move back. I took over management of the Hungry Trout Fly Shop in 2011 and have been running the fly fishing guide service for the past 11 years. This year, our team is excited to be opening our partner shop, the Adirondack Anglers Outpost, to expand on the conventional fishing, warm water fly fishing, and outfitting opportunities in our region.
